A&S 50 things... #3
3. 2008; Black linen Tudor. This was based on the portrait of a Young Woman in the style of Hans Holbein, found in the New York Metropolitan Museum.
The black and red linen were from stash. The beads for the neckline and for the aglets were also from stash. This dress was later remade into an Italian, and currently more Spanish dress.

2. (2008) 16th Century Smocked camicia based on Prato Museum examples. This was started in 2008.
the original camicia is found in the Prato museum and is made of linen with cross stitch embellishment and pleated sleeves. The embroidery pattern, I made is based on a portrait of Eleanora d'TOledo. The linen was in a large stash I bought in a sale, some years ago. I used black and 'gold' Madiera silk I had. The buttons were silk wrapped over bead buttons. All materials were from stash.

2007: The AS 50 Challenge is started. I heard about it, started but did not know how to offficially join. My entries at the Stash Challenge (LJ) were added after I joined later, so are majorly outof order...
My first official item from stash was a Peacock feather fan
1. Peacock Feather fan: This was based on a Florentine school 1530-1540s portrait said to be Vittoria Collana with a black feather fan. Moda Firenza listed peacock feathers in Eleanora d'Toledo's gardaroba.

A&S 50 things...
I realised just recently that, though I have been doing this for a while now, I have posted pics to my flickr site, but not actually blogged any doco or info. I have posted pics to the LJ page: as50challenge.livejournal,com
For more info on the challenge: http://artandsciences50.org/
My challenge was to make things from my material stash (using minimum of 70% stsh in the items).
I will go back and blog the particulars, for those who like bloggy things...
